What Mermaids Can Teach Us About Great Sex!

Mermaid sexuality became real to me in a recent magical experience.   I now understand why Mermaids, those mythical creatures of the sea, are so beloved and engrained in our collective consciousness…. .    I became a Mermaid.

Seriously, what woman amongst us has not at least once had the fantasy of turning into a Mermaid?   And guys I know that many of you have secret crushes on Arielle from The Little Mermaid.   So when I was given a chance at a recent retreat to transform into a Mermaid,  I jumped at it!

 

While I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical when I heard about the idea, my skepticism quickly turned into desire when I saw the first Mermaids sunning on the rocks.

What I learned about Mermaid Sexuality

• Mermaid transformation happens in stages.…just like good sex.   You don’t turn into a Mermaid overnight.  The transformation process is powerful as you slowly begin to imagine yourself as a Mermaid.   You have to get into a Mermaid State of Mind.

 

• Transforming into a Mermaid is a sensual experience.  As I was adorned with  jewels, hairpieces and flowers by the Mermaid attendant….Yes, Mermaids have attendants, I started to feel very sexy, powerful and fully alive.

 

• So don’t be shy….put on that  sexy outfit, your favorite lingerie, and adorn yourself with jewelry….  Looking sexy makes you feel sexy.

 

• Mermaids are sirens.  By our mere presence and the  sensuality that flows from us, we attract a lot of attention.     Sitting on the rocks in the middle of the American River, as raft after raft floated by, there were continuous whistles, whoops, and adorations.

 

• Mermaids are always in the flow.  As creatures of the water, we are one with the flow, floating in and out of bushes, diving under rocks and waves, experiencing the thrill of the rapids.  Great sex also requires us to be in the flow of our own bodies and our partner’s.

 

• Mermaids are in their body.    When you have no legs and only a fin to move around, you become extremely present to the physical experience of your body.  The whole body needs to move together, as one unit, seamlessly, in order to shift positions, and dive in and out of the water.

 

• Mermaids are playful!  We tease, we taunt, we make you wait for what you want…all the while building up that desire.

 

So if you want to have better sex, embrace your Inner Mermaid!
